1. General conditions for booking a stay

You can book a stay on our website, through our online booking system.

When you book a stay on www.boathouses.dk through our booking system, you will need to pay for your stay to confirm your booking, Booking and payment on the website requires you to be registered as a customer in our system.

You can only book a stay on www.boathouses.dk if you accept the terms and conditions, which you can read before paying.

When you pay for your stay, you will receive a reservation inquiry confirmation by email shortly afterward. Once your stay is finally confirmed, you will receive a final reservation confirmation of your stay by email.

If canceled more than 30 days before arrival, the full price of the stay will be refunded, however, a cancellation fee of DKK 150.00 will be charged.

If canceled between 30 days and 14 days before arrival, 50% of the price of the stay will be refunded, excluding the cancellation fee of DKK 150.00

If canceled less than 14 days before arrival, there is no refund.

Once you have started your vacation with us, the booked period is binding and cannot be transferred to others.

2. General conditions for boat rental

To book a boat, please contact us to make sure there is availability and to receive practical information.

To confirm your booking, you must pay the full amount at the time of booking.

Booking and payment requires that you are created as a customer in our system and that you accept the terms and conditions.

Once payment is complete, you will receive an order confirmation by email. Once we have finally confirmed the sailing, you will receive a separate confirmation with practical information.

If you want to change the date or time of your boat rental or sailing trip, please contact Boathouses at: [email protected]

Taking availability into account, we will try to accommodate the request, but changes cannot be guaranteed.

For cancellations, the following conditions apply:

  • More than 14 days before departure: The entire amount will be refunded.
  • Less than 14 days before departure: No refund.

Once a sailing trip has begun, the booked period is binding and cannot be transferred to others.

Boathouses reserves the right to cancel a sailing trip if weather or other conditions make it unsafe to sail.

It is solely the captain’s decision whether the voyage can be completed.

If you cancel from our side, you will receive:

  • a full refund of the amount paid , or
  • possibility to rebook to another available date.

No further claims can be made against Boathouses in connection with cancellation due to weather or safety conditions.

  1. All participants must follow the captain’s instructions both before and during the race.
  2. Life jackets must be worn during the entire trip.
  3. It is not permitted to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs before or during the voyage.
  4. The captain can reject participants who pose a safety risk at any time.
  5. Participation is at your own risk, unless otherwise provided by mandatory Danish legislation.
  6. Boathouses is insured against liability according to applicable rules, but the customer may be liable for damages in the event of gross negligence or deliberate damage.

3. Special conditions for boat rental (without captain)

When renting a dinghy, the customer assumes responsibility for the boat for the agreed period.

The following is included in the rent:

  • Dinghy with outboard motor
  • Life jackets
  • Short safety instruction before departure

The customer must be at least 18 years old and able to drive the boat safely.

When renting a dinghy without a captain, the customer is responsible for:

  • operate the boat in accordance with applicable maritime regulations
  • that the equipment is treated responsibly
  • that the boat is delivered in the same condition as when received
  • that all safety instructions are followed

Any damage, lost equipment or irresponsible behavior may result in liability.

  • It is not allowed to sail in rough weather or outside approved areas.
  • Boathouses may refuse delivery of the dinghy if the weather is deemed unsuitable.
  • The dinghy may not be used for racing, towing or commercial activity.

4. Special conditions for RIB sailing (with captain)

The RIB boat is always sailed by a trained and approved captain from Boathouses.

Up to the number of participants stated on the booking confirmation (typically 11 guests) can be accommodated.

Life jackets and necessary safety equipment are included.

Participants must:

  • follow the captain’s instructions
  • stay seated when required
  • Accept that pace and route are determined by the captain

The captain can adapt the nature of the trip at any time for reasons of safety, waves, wind or passenger comfort.

As RIB sailing takes place in open waters, weather assessment is a safety decision made solely by the captain.

5. Special conditions for Seal Safari (with captain/guide)

Seal safaris are conducted by RIB boat and include:

  • authorized captain
  • guide/narrator
  • Life jackets and equipment
  • safety introduction

The duration and route of the tour is stated in the booking confirmation.

During seal watching, special considerations apply:

  • distance to animals must be respected
  • Captain decides how long you can stay at an area
  • feeding, calling or attempting to touch animals is not allowed

Seal safaris are suitable for children, but:

  • children should be according to an adult
  • young people under the age of 15 must wear a life jacket for the entire trip (regardless of conditions)

When you book a stay or boat with Boathouses, we register a number of information about you in order to process your booking.

This information is:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your email address
  • This phone number

This information is stored in our booking system for as long as it is required for accounting purposes (5 years)

Boathouses Aps accepts payment with VISA, VISA Electron, Mastercard and Paypal. Payment will be debited from your account as soon as your booking is finally confirmed. However, the money is deducted immediately when paying with Paypal.

All amounts are in Danish kroner and include VAT.

Boathouses Aps uses an approved payment server that encrypts all your card details with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol. This means that your information cannot be read.

At Boathouses.dk you can buy a gift card that can be used when you book a stay or rent a boat.

  • Our gift cards are valid for 24 months, after which they can no longer be used.
  • Our gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.

If a refund has been agreed, the amount will be reimbursed by bank transfer.

Therefore, in case of a refund, please provide us with your SWIFT / BIC and your IBAN account number.

Boathouses has liability insurance in accordance with Danish law.

The insurance does not cover:

  • personal injury caused by the customer’s own negligence
  • Damage to clothing, electronics or effects
  • Damage to boat or equipment due to customer misuse

Boathouses cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control, including weather, force majeure, government restrictions or events of third parties.

All bookings with Boathouses are subject to Danish law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably must be brought before a Danish court.
